HOW TO SPIRIT YOUR BUSINESS TO SUCCESS AND
PROFITABILITY
Lasting, deeply
satisfying and high levels
of achievement are possible for businesses if they become spiritual, explains Ravi
Mehra The business headlines are dominated these days
by the likes of Enron, WorldCom and other examples of corporate wrong-doing and
poor performance. My view is that so many of the problems that businesses of all
kinds face nowadays can be traced back to the fact that they are not spiritual.
Spirituality brings awareness, harmony, integrity, attention and
presence to an organization. These qualities and attributes lead to success in
all forms and for all parties. Enterprises that embrace and practice
spirituality in their day-to-day workings can achieve financial and emotional
well-being for themselves, their customers, their suppliers and, in the
long-term, for their shareholders.
In a spiritual business, work is fun
and there is effortless operation. People want to work and customers want
to buy. The cost of operation is lowered because, for example, there is less
sickness and stress, good people join and the right people leave.
Implementation involves the adoption of three simple practices into the
daily routines of the people in an organization. It is not difficult to do but
the rewards are rich and immediate.
The first step is regular
meditation. This is the quietening of the mind and the process taps you into the
eternal side of your being. The enhanced awareness that you gain allows you to
take better and effortless decisions because you are more in touch with what is
going on around you. In addition, your choices are heartfelt rather than
intellectual alone. Meditation is very powerful because it enables you see the
world from a much wider perspective. With awareness you can view everything, and
not just what your consultants or employees are showing you. With regular
meditation all-round awareness becomes available to you each and every day. Click

advanced technique I teach throughout the year.
The second action I
recommend is the act of prayer, which is the simple process of asking for what
you want. It involves listing your intentions and then silently clarifying
through daily prayer. Sitting quietly for a couple of minutes a few times a day
is sufficient. If everyone in a company were to do this regularly incredible
things would be achieved. This simple act allows you to articulate your
intentions and desires. With regular practice these become more pure and clear.
Then your life has a driver. This driver is not aimless but clear about his
objective. Our future is our intentions. The corporate future is the collective
intentions/prayer of its workforce.
The third activity that should be
done to create a spiritual business is the practice of sharing. This includes
giving unconditionally, bonding with people and helping customers, suppliers,
shareholders, employees and anyone else seeking assistance. When you share in
this way you experience the true gift of spirituality. Things that you want will
come to you. You'll attract the right type of employees and the right levels of
profitability and growth. There'll be no litigation and things will be easier
and more fun.
So go ahead and spiritualize your business. When you do
you'll find that work is done with an open mind and people are not wasting time
on extraneous things. Instead they are putting their attention on their own and
the company's desires and goals. Staff are actually more driven to achieve but
do so in a calm, productive, present and happier state of mind. Do your small
part to create a better place for your people to spend time in. Lasting, truly
satisfying and amazing levels of success will surely follow. It has to, because
that is Nature's way.
